Fuel warning hatred

Featured Replies

Unplug the seatbelt connector under the drivers seat, & the seat belt warning will stop.

Why have I not done this yet! I normally start the engine before I get in the car, so the bonging does my nut in.

Can I get at the connector without removing the seat first? I'm small if that helps.

Also agree with the OP! The fuel low bong scares the sh**e out of me and the wife when it goes off. Surprised I haven't flinched and driven into a tree yet (I'm very flinchy)!

Yes, raise the seat as high up as it goes and then stick your head in the front foot well and look under the seat. IIRC the wire comes up from the carpet at the front near the door and the connector is attached to the bottom of the seat. As you have a vrs there should only be one connector, which I think may well be yellow.

I'm in and of the car some much whilst working I dont even notice the seat belt bong anymore. For all I know it doesn't even work anymore lol

Did somebody say bong .....

I'm sure VCDS can turn this off, anyone want to remind us how?

I don't think it can tbh.

Seatbelt has a seperate connector. VRS doesn't have seat airbags. I'm not sure if heated seats was an option on mk1 VRS.

Got heated seats on my Mk1 vRS. Toasty on a cold morning  (which currently seems to be most mornings!)

Rub it in......... mine are not working at the moment grrrrrrr

it should be possible to code out the seatbelt chime, its certainly possible on my Audi of similar vintage and the MK2 Octavia. The coding is under instruments, although I am not sure of the coding for the MK1 Octavia.

This is the coding for an Audi A4 (8E) cluster, look at the next to last bit.

nope, tried it, The seatbelt warning is just the dash light, you cant just dissable the Bong via Vag Com.

Tried loads, ended up turning all the lights off one by one but the bong stayed.... jsut stick your head under and unplug.

MOT day i will plug it back in incase they pick up on it as i know they are getting picky with warning lights, but its a 2 min job so easly fixed.
