anyone help me

pm kent phil or ex audi si nicely, both know what they are doing with headlight wiring and may be able to help you out!

Levelling system and washers is a no no!

However they will still pass an mot as levelling and wash system is only an 'if fitted' test so if you dont have them it doesnt matter

If your like me and cant be bothered to faff on yourself kufatec do a wiring loom adaptor

You will not gain headlight levelling through the rheostat and when you click onto full beam you'll lose the xenon dipped beam but it never really bothered me

You can get it to work by running a wire from the indicator stalk to the headlight switch though - again i did the research but never bothered

Stig1, I am going to ask you a question, and please don't take it the wrong way as it is not meant that way, but how practical are your mechanical and electrical skills?. If they are average or above, then you can do the washer jets, and have manual levelling via the dash rheostat.

If they are not good, you may struggle trying to do what you want to do, so you may want to look at Kufatec looms - more expensive but easier to fit. I am in the middle of completeing this mod, doing it the "harder" way, but have had to stop as my new grandson is very ill in hospital.

If you are prepared to wait a few weeks, I will gladly give you all the knowledge I have gained doing this to date, I just cannot do it at the moment due to the reason above.

Hope you find the info you need, if you need to do it sooner, good luck.

Phil

i worked in a garage for 4 yrs and always do my own work and mods but any help would be great and i want to fit the washers

Are you intending to use the standard igniters and DS2 bulbs, or are you going to fit aftermarket HIDs in the projectors?.

How much of the headlamp wash parts do you have at the moment if any?.

Do you want to retain the dash height adjustment or go self level?.

i might use after market hid as i prefer the colour but noy sure yet on that one , ive not got any of the headlamp washer parts yet , and on the adjustment side of things id like to have self leveling but depends on the cost and effort to get it to work

Self level parts are going to be expensive to buy new, but if you have a donor used car, this will lower the cost quite a bit, only problem is factory fit xenon cars being broken are not exactly plentiful. It is also going to be a lot harder to do if you have not got loom connectors ready to accept the self level units.

Let me know what you decide to do and I'll try to get part numbers and offer some advice.

Dox (PM him) is breaking an Octavia with Xenons.

If you are after self levellers then be quick with the pm as you do not see too many being broken up, and you can get any connectors you need from a "working" vehicle.

what do i need to ask him for

You at a bare minimum will want the front and rear suspension sensors, the control unit, and possibly the headlamp control units in the back of the lamps - not sure if they control the stepper motors from the lamp itself. You will need the stepper motors for the lamps, and then you would have to look in your car to see if you have the connections on your loom ready to accept the sensors and their looms.

This is one of those jobs that is possible to do, as anything is possible with enough time and money, but it may not be exactly straightforward. If I was doing it this way, I would be asking members who have factory Xenons, whether they have any reasonable quality pictures of those areas of the car that may require wiring attention. I will see if I can source any exploded diagrams of the system tomorrow to try to help you, but it won't be till late as we are seeing my grandson's specialist tomorrow.

cheers rob any help would be great

dont be fooled into parting with cash for a loom conversion either. pop out your old reflector light looms and add another earth for the extra bulb in the new xenon cluster. Thats all i did with mine, and they work fine :)

 This is what I did to my ones also, but you may not be able to do this if you are going oem self level, I will check to see if there are loom differences on Elsawin and let you know. I have to say Stig1, you may find the manual level option easier, as more people have done it, but I do admire a man for courage to follow a project through to a good end, just think you may find info a bit thin on the ground.

Gee, how you doing buddy?, have missed your humour on here.

haha phil.. im good dude. we should catch up again... just work work work atm!

Gee can ya show me how you did yours? Chris was thinking about getting these lights. Do your dipped lights stay on when you flick to main beam?

you know what, its been so long since i driven it i cannot remember charlie. you should pop over this coming weekend if ya not busy mate. ill text ya.

Sounds good mate :)

This is not a big issue to fix if they don't, just get a loom repair wire from skoda with the correct end on it, plug it into the spare hole in the back of the headlamp switch, then run it to the headlamp stalk and connect to the lamp feed.

Thanks phil :)
