Cold engine skoda fabia 2001

Featured Replies

Just bought used skoda fabia 2001 1.4 8v. My engine doesnt get warmed up. The heating seems work just a little and engine temperature is cold still after driving for longer time. What would the issue be?? Any ideas? Would that be expensive? Please help

Hi, I suspect you may have a faulty thermostat which sits within a housing on the top right hand side of the engine (as you're looking into the engine bay). Depending on how handy you are they're generally not too bad to do but you may wish to have local garage sort it for you. Cost wise you'd be looking typically at £80 to £100 garage wise.

I know you probably have this sorted but look at the temp gauge on the dash, if it's not hitting the 12 o'clock position within a few miles then its likely the thermostat and housing, it's £42 delivered for a genuine part and is simple to fit. A garage will likely charge you 30 mins labour to do it. You will need to top the coolant up as well :)
