Well my 1.6 TDI superb has been with me for 41 days and is going strong, my impressions are, easy to drive for the size. The steering is light while in town but weights up while traveling at speed, the space in the cab is great, the amount of legroom in the back is crazy and the room in the front is also good. I have the S trim so hasn't got all the toys but does me the trip computer is handy, the auto lights are a comfort, the swing radio is easy to use and has a nice sound, there are a reasonable amount of cubbys, the dials are easy to read, the power of the 1.6 TDI engine is very good and is very economical highest i have seen was according to trip 59.3 MPG, the armrest is nice and soft (didn't have one in my last octavia), the seats are supportive and comfortable to sit in, boot is a good size and the doors in the side are quite big and keep stuff away, the brakes are good and very powerfull

Bad things

The length is a bit long for some bays and wont go in them, trying to refuel can be a bit tricky, the A,B and C pillar are a bit big and create a bit of a blind spot, the boot is quite heavy to shut in saloon mode if you are holding stuff in the other hand, the gear change recombination wants you to change to early (presumably to keep revs down) and drops the car out of its turbo range, the rear door reflectors down the bottom are easily kicked off by passengers so i had to keep clipping them back on but just took them off and put them in the house.

And earlier on i was just doing a weekly inspection walk round check Tyre presser's,underneath, bodywork, wheels, interior ETC and noticed that there was a yellow piece of paint on the back of the two rear hubs pics follow. They are maybe put on to mark them at the factory. who knows, took a pic of the engine too.

All in all i a very pleased with the superb and look forward to the many more happy miles,

but how can you get that on a brand new car from a skoda dealer?

They are put on in the factory to show that the bolts have been torqued properly.

thank you

I think your local traffic wardens are getting really sneaky. I know they used to put a crayon or chalk mark on the tyre of a vehicle when they walked their circuit; if the same car was still there when they came back round, you had exceeded your time and got a ticket - Maybe they're operating more covertly now :wonder:
