Does the steering wheel obstruct your view of the instruments...?

Featured Replies

Or is it only me that can't find a position which is both comfortable and where the steering wheel doesn't block the instruments...?

I usually set my board computer to show my speed since the steering wheel obstructs the better part of the speedometer. And I hope there's a proper alarm sound if e.g. the oil pressure drops because I won't be able to see the warning light...!

Edit: I am 6 feet/183 cm tall...

Well I'm 5"11' and don't really have a problem.

Mind you, I do tend to like the steering wheel quite high.

I am with you on that one, I'm 6ft 3 and the wheel on my MK1 Octavia blocks the temp and fuel guages. Sorry don't think there is a solution to this one without changing the wheel.

Yes! I tested the Citigo a few weeks back and one of my biggest concerns was that I couldn't see the speedometer. The dealer said I could adjust the steering wheel - but I think he's wrong.

Have never driven a Citigo but have sat in one and an Up! and never got the feeling that the speedo etc was obstructed by the steering wheel.Must have another look the next time I pass a dealership.I am six foot tall also.

I'm 6'1 and can just about see the top of the speedo with the steering height adjust as far up as possible.

I have the same issue with this, but I just put it down to me being tight and not having the height adjustable seat option.....

I adjusted the seat rather then the steering wheel and can see everything

I have found sometimes it blocks the rev counter, but thats about it

Just bought a Citigo SE and both seats and steering wheel are adjustable.

So, most people seem to have no problems...

I will have to fiddle around with the adjustments and see if I can find a better position, then. Currently, both the seat and the steering wheel are in their lowest positions. If I raise only the steering wheel, it feels too high , so I will have to raise the seat along with it, but there is not too much head room to eat into :)

Had a sit in an up! this morning,as I suspected no problems viewing the instruments.
