Ahhhhh Heated seat stopped working

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Looking for some help.

I was cleaning the inside of the windows and left a bottle of vinegar on the front drivers seat.

I didnt notice that the lid was not tight and most contents of the bottle spilt onto the drivers seat, at rear of the base seat.

Since then my drivers side heated seat has not worked. The passengers side is still working which makes me think it is not the fuse.

Gutted as I love the heated seat function.

Any ideas of my cheapest way to get this fixed?

Is there any chance of the heater working once it dries out for a few weeks?

Grrrr just passed its mot as well, from joy to dispair!

Any idea how much the heating element costs to buy and where from?

Do you know any auto electricians at all? Have you actually CHECKED the fuse?

Slayed any Mustangs in yours?

Hey mate, i need to double check fuse. However i thought if heat seat switches still lit up dash and passenger side seat still worked then it was unlikely to be fuse. ta

There's a control module under the drivers seat. Could be worth checking no liquid has got into this. I've replaced one and they're about £75/£80 unfortunately.

I brought a new element as it was the last one from skoda last year as mine set on fire. I think it was 50 quid ish. But there is a control box under the base too

Borrowed your pics Ant, but these show the control unit.

cheeky... Theses are for sale too

Sorry to butt in.. how do i know if i have heated seats? Obv by looking under the seat but is there a faster way to check? And how do u turn them on...

Ah

^^^ switches on the dashboard are a good indicator you

have them. Although some have just fitted the switches to

fill the blanks for some godforsaken reason...

Where abouts on the dash?

On the left and right of the row of buttons above the stereo, as you can see on these pics.
