Octavia 2 rear brake caliper removal

Featured Replies

Please can someone help - i have an Octavia 2 vrs that needs the rear discs changed - I've tried a m 55 and 60 tx drive (either to small or to big). I've then bought a spline set from ebay but m14 is to big and m12 feels slack..........is there something in the middle I'm missing, any help gratefully accepted

Possibly a 7mm brake Allen key?

Now sitting here trying to fathom why I suggested 7mm Allen when you've said between M12 and M14. Off on a tangent again

Like the reference to C&H btw B)

Deffo m14 spline, I did mine last year. Possibly the bolt head is crudded up, give it a blast out with some WD40 or similar and try tapping the spline in to the bolt head. Good luck with it, space isn't exactly generous for getting the calipers (bolts) off.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Try posting in the correct section of the forum instead of the new members bit!?

Welcome anyway :)

I assume it will be the same as a MK5 Golf, if so leave the carrier in place and just remove the calliper (13mm and 15mm spanners) the disc will come off with the carrier in situ.

Not on the VRS (288 rear discs) they don't.
