My "Skoda Fabia 16V 1.4 Elegance Petrol 2003" has a problem which is very irritating!

PLEASE HELP!!!

- The Driver side - rear door doesn't open from inside or from outside, moving handle makes a noise like its opening but it doesn't.

- when unlocked with central locking - the small pin near the windows pop up for each door, but doesn't 4 this door. it is only half way up.

- The pin pops up as the handle is pulled from inside, so when i try and open the door from the inside the pin that usually pops up once all the doors are unlocked begins to slowly pull up as the handle is pulled and drops when the handle is let go.

PLEASE HELP!!!

..Not sure what this could be, I can't manage to open the door panel to see the lock and door mechanism from the inside as the door is jammed.

There are many forums about this door jam but none that could help me.

See if you can pull the pin up whilst pulling open on the door handle to manually unlock it. When one of my locks went, this was the only way I could get it to open before it completely failed and deadlocked shut.

Once the door is open, since yours is a 2003, it will be fairly straight forward to replace the door lock as your regulator is bolted in rather than riveted.

Hi thanks for your speedy reply softscoop, i tried that several times pulling both inside and outside handles and lifting the pin etc etc, can't get it open at all!.

I'm not even sure how to open the door panel to get into the inside of the door, i can't see any screws or openings.

When you unlock using the central locking, does the pin move a tiny bit, or does it not move at all?

It's permanently a inch up whether locked or unlocked, it doesn't move when the other unlock. So it doesn't move at all, but is one inch high at all times.
