323mm Leon Cupra Brembo brakes

Featured Replies

The difference between the brembo 323 setup and the single piston 312's is night and day!

With the brembo's it feels as if you can do handstands with the fabia. Thats how i always explain it

Dont get me wrong 312's will suffice on a tuned fabia but they arent a patch on the brembo setup! Imagine faceplanting your steering wheel / dash. This is what brembo's do. Maybe not a good idea if your considering being a film star etc in the future

That's what I like to hear!

Are the Brembo 323 calipers a better design than the Ibiza Cupra AP calipers? They were dreadful for seizing, and getting parts for refurbishing them was a nightmare. Also pads are quite pricey. Just things to consider :)

I had TT 312mm brakes on my old hybrid ibiza, with good fluid, uprated discs & pads they handled track abuse quite well!

Ebay are the best bet for calipers. Discs and pads from EuroCarParts or CarParts4Less.

Would you be able to link me up to something as I'm not sure what to look for :)

The AP's were ally with steel pad retaining pins, which is what created the problems with seized pins etc. don't think Brembo owners have this problem!

Yeh I heard that about the AP's.. Most of the sets I've seen recently needed a recon job.

P.s. Hey Chris - How's the type r? That clutch is working well for mine thanks!

The brembos being more common are a bit easier to get bits for, that said I was almost charged £140 for 4 bleed nipples! Got some for £2 each from motorserv. :D

Hi mate :) glad to hear the clutch is going well! Are you at hybrid power yet?

Loving the Type R mate, but I'll not thread crap in here about it :D lol

Can any of you guys running 323's recommend me some discs? Ive had a look about and ideally i prefer the grooved only discs, but the only people selling them are a company called 'mintbitz' and they dont have a great reputation.. Any ideas? Cheers :)

Search Ebay for 312mm calipers (be sure that carriers are included). For discs and pads on CarParts4Less or EuroCarParts pretend you have a 2002 Audi TT 1.8T!

The OP wants 323mm discs not 312's. You could just go on ECP and pretend you have a 2004 Leon Cupra R and see what choice you get?

pikachu24 asked about 312s, hence the quoted post from him and my response. Anyway I digress, back on topic.

Checked ECP - they are £102 a disc. I think i would rather get two plain discs from 'Brake Depot' on ebay for £126. It looks like i might be able to request as grooved too.. Will have to check! Thanks for the help guys..

Can anyone help me out with regard to caliper adapters? I can't find them anywhere.. I've had a look at creation Motorsport but I'm not convinced they are the right ones. After speaking to them on the phone I don't think they're too sure either! I've also contacted badger 5 but they don't supply for the cupra R kit! (Just the brembo junior gt). Anyone who's has them fitted to their fabia, I would be grateful for your help! Thanks , Tom

You dont need any adapters, they come from a Leon Cupra R which is the same setup hub wise as the Fabia/Polo so they'll just bolt straight on.

Nice one :) thing is I've read that's true for the Leon/Golf but I've heard that the polo/fabia/Ibiza might need them? Are some different to others? Itl be great if they do go straight on! Cheers

As Matt has said, they (Cupra R Brembo's) simply bolt on, had them on my car for a while ;)

There are other Brembo set-ups that do required some work.... I know Jackclap has a 312mm Brembo set-up which required some work (possibly from an Alfa, but could be wrong)

I done lots of hunting and looking at different setups. As Jars said, if you try using some brembos form a porsche or alfa then you'll need to work out what discs and what brackets to use. I spent a while looking at different options but in the end I decided to go with the Cupra R brembos, providing they are from a Leon they are a straight fit, easy to get discs and pads for, job jobbed!

They are the leon ones so it makes sense that they bolt on.. good news then! Thanks guys il give them a go!

I'm aware this is an old thread, I'm searching for some more information about the fitting of these LCR brakes.

I have a set ready to be fitted and I'm wondering whether the standard splash guard/ panel from the Fabia will be adequate?

I've looked at the fitting holes on the LCR guards and they seem to be in a different position.

I then thought about the 6L Ibiza Cupra guards as that car runs the 4 pots with 312 mm discs, after some further research they use the same part number as the Fabia vRS.

I suppose the standard guards would do the job sufficiently?

The disc size for the LCR is 323mm vs the 288mm on the fabia. You could try and manipulate what you’ve got already?

Thanks for the reply! :)

I was just wondering if anyone had ever fitted bigger splash guards on the front.

The 323 mm discs will fit fine but I imagine the splash guards won't be guarding the 323 discs as well as the 288 discs.

I’ve not heard or read someone putting bigger one on, but that’s not to say it’s not been done.

I removed mine when I had LCR Brembos on, largely as they pretty much fell apart on me and didn’t bother replacing. I did remove the guard on the rears and flattened them out to take the 256mm rear discs, which was easy enough.

Is there enough metal for you to make it larger.... I can’t remember tbh!

Mine are getting that way, they're still in one piece at the minute though.

I assume you were able to remove the rear guards without removing the bearing assembly? I've read that Octavia vRS guards will fit the rear with slight modification to the mounting holes, I plan to attempt this.

I've looked at some photos of the standard front guards and there's a bit that looks like it's able to be flattened, I think if i order another set of standard guards they should do the job.

- I don’t remember removing the rear hub tbh :drunk:I kept my original rear guards and flattened them to take the bigger disc, exactly as I would have done with the fronts

- Not sure if there’s a big enough lip to make up the 35mm difference in disc size, maybe leave you about 15/20mm, but gotta be worth a go and be better than nothing
