**SOLD** Skoda Fabia Elegance 1.9 TDI //

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am selling my beloved August 2001 registered (Y plate) Fabia 1.9 TDI Elegance spec:

(I’ve just bought a VRS on the spur of the moment!)

· Electric & heated front mirrors

· Electric windows on all four windows

· Heated front seats

· Drivers seat height adjustment

· ASR (Traction control)

· ABS

· Air Conditioning

· Trip computer

· Skoda Symphony CD player

I’ve owned this car since April 2009 and had many of the common Fabia niggles repaired in my four year ownership. It’s a great, comfy and fun car to drive achieving 65MPG @ 70 on the motorways.

Mileage is 132K (nothing for a well cared PD engine) and shouldn’t increase much. I’ll also be having it valeted as part of the sale. ==

.

MOT due: March 13th 2014

Tax due: September 2013

Service Summary

The service book shows that it was serviced roughly every 10K by Skoda up until about 80K. From that point I was told it was serviced independently and I’ve since had it serviced independently during my ownership with an oil change and air/fuel/oil filter change every 9-10K. It’s on its second timing belt; tensioner and water pump which I had done at 108K. I really do give some mechanical sympathy to my car!

Maintenance:

I thought it useful if I list the repairs I’ve had done (mostly common ones) so you know this won’t need doing for a long time. All work, as they should:

· Fan speed resistor

· Air con evaporator sensor

· Air con re-gas

· Front lower wishbone bushes replaced with solid rubber Cupra bushes

· Front top mounts and bearings replaced

· Front drop links replaced

· Drivers side heated switch replaced, turned out the control unit is the culprit and needs replacing

· Coolant temp sensor replaced

· Gearbox oil replaced with genuine VAG oil and re-greased for super smooth changes

· Both wing mirror glass replaced as heating elements had failed

· Load sensor wire behind gearbox repaired

Plus Points

· Comes with both flip out keys (lock, unlock and boot open)

· Original user guide & service book

· Only one advisory on the last MOT (Front fog bulb out)

· Good brakes - Mintex discs & pads all round (less than 15K)

· Great tyre treads all round

· New Bosch S4 battery in 2011

· Timing belt & tensioner, water pump, aux belt and tensioner replaced at 108K

· No issue with turbo or clutch

· New front bumper, professionally fitted Feb 2011 (Some p*ll*ck trying to park cracked it so was done under their insurance)

· No Fault codes

Niggles

· Paintwork Is 11 years old so there are some stone chips and some marks

· N/S rear wheel arch had a small scrape repair and you can just about see the base coat underneath in certain light

· Drivers door isn’t always recognised as being open. It’s been like this throughout my ownership. I believe it’s the micro-controller in the door, plenty of info on Briskoda, never bothered me enough to have it replaced

· Rear washer jet doesn’t work. It’s come unplugged behind the engine bulkhead but I’ve left it because the rear nozzle needs replacing as it drips into the boot otherwise

· Rubber seal son the rear windows have a couple of bubbles and the rear Skoda badge is a little weathered

· Other road users have clipped both wing mirrors. O/S has a small graze that has been roughly touched up. N/S has a crack in the plastic and has been glued.

· Recirculate button isn’t always working. It looks like the motor may need swapping (£30 used on eBay)

· Drivers heated seat needs a new control unit (£68 from Rainsworth) so currently I’ve pulled the fuse as otherwise it’s stuck on.

· I had the N/S window regulator repaired about 6 months ago (after giving up myself with a repair kit) but I think the garage has forgotten to clip one of the plastic harnesses back into the doorframe as you can hear it rattle on the door when you close it. It’s only a 15 minute door card off fix, push cable clip back in

· The rear door seals could do with sealing up as the car does the usual Fabia misting up and the rear carpets are damp after a heavy downpour. Its never bothered me as the car can always go in my garage where I run a dehumidifier

· Small ding to bumper but very shallow and no damage to paintwork. Not sure who’s done it but Its so shallow it would easily pop out

I’ve tried to give a really comprehensive description. Aside from the small but easy-to-fix niggles above, this is a well-loved car and is certainly a lot cheaper than some current eBay adverts!

As requested, more photos have been added.

That's a nicely speced up sweet Fabia that Dave..

IF I could have got a decent and even half decent quote of one of these robbing insurance companies a few weeks ago, this would have been right up my street for the daughter to drive.

GLWTS mate, not that I think you'll have it hanging around for too long, as the price you're asking isn't a million miles off imo.

you have a PM Dave
