what's the sedan VAG car with biggest trunk?

Featured Replies

hi,

I couldn't find a better place for placing these questions so feel free to move it elsewhere.

What's the sedan car model (VAG only) that has the biggest trunk? Is there any bigger than Skoda Superb?

thanks

Maybe Audi A8 or VW Phaeton.

Actually, just a quick look over autotrader:

Superb - 595 litres

Passat - 565

A6 - 530

A8 - 510

Phaeton - 500

So superb wins :)

I don't know any VAG cars with a trunk, is it like the elephant mod ;)

Even though I've got one, and yes, the boot's huge, I'm surprised that it beats the others listed by Hu'.

Thanks a lot man, it matches my thoughts:)

Not wishing to start an argument, but isn't a sedan what we would call a saloon in the UK ?

In which case the Mk II Superb is out, as it is really a hatchback with an ingenious boot lid, and the MkI which is a true saloon / sedan only has 462 litres with the seats up (and is my only regret now for having bought one - it looks big at first glance, but is a lot smaller, more inaccessible and less practical than most)

So, it looks as if the Passat has it @ 565

Dear Johnny,

In England we say boot or perhaps boot area. Thank you for joining in,

Regards,

The United Kingdom.

As already mentioned, cars it's like a new language for me:)

A sedan in my understanding and meaning of the initial question is a car that it's not a break/combi/vagon and not an SUV, so just a regular car:D

I dont know if its just me, but I have owned a MK2 Superb and currently run a Audi A8 D2. The A8 D2 seems to be able to get a whole lot more in the trunk than I ever could the Superb. The Audi swallows 3 weeks worth of holiday luggage for three adults with room to spare. The same luggage in the Superb usually meant some of it had to travel on the back seat.

Or you could call it a saloon with an ingenious hatchback, ATEOTD the car is both a saloon and hatchback… whatever you want at any one time.

Which Superb are you quoting here? The MkI is a saloon, the MKII is a hatch with a split tailgate.

The latest models.

Yes, I know the Superb is a saloon/hatchback hybrid. But it still works as a saloon car if you want it to. I had a B5.5 Passat and even though the boot was cavernous, the hatch to it was narrow enough I couldn't get a lot of stuff in it and had better luck at times getting stuff in over the back seats! You don't get that problem with the Superb, which is one of 3 cars I am looking at when I upgrade (though I only get estates now).

B6 passat has a rediculously big boot.

First thing SWMBO judges in a car is, the size of the boot, she'll look in the boot and decide how many large bags of compost will fit in there.

Guess she'll have an orgasm looking into a Superb boot

Be careful with comparing listed capacities, some list boot capacity including the spare wheel well, some do not.

Phaeton does include spare wheel well, quite possibly Mk2 Superb does as well, as this misrepresentation started around the time Mk2 was introduced, and I suspect A8 does not include the well, so would be on course to 600l incl the well.
