Need to add RCA to my oem satnav

Featured Replies

I have a 06 play octavia vrs petrol, it has a nexen satnav I believe, first question is that it has the capability to use aux but no jack, what do I need to use this fiction and where can I get the bits?

Secondly I also need to add the capability to add an amp.

Finally can anyone suggest/ link me up to where I can get the bits please

To add an amp you have very few choises.

1. Use speaker to rca converter. You will loose one speaker from the headunit and will loose the ability to fade forward/backwards

2. But a processor designed for the job such as the JL clean sweep, Audison Bit 10 or one of the others. All very pricey options

you can use that yes. You will loose one speaker though as you need to use a speaker to wire into the box

Can't these things be wired in parallel?

you might be able to, dont know if it will affect loading as there isnt a voice coil in the adapter.

Theory says 2 4ohm drivers in parallel shows a 2ohm load, this would mean you'd have one speaker getting more power from the headunit than the rest but, without a voice coil maybe you can get away with it?

That box appears to use both left and right, so (in theory) the loss would be equal across L/R? Could this then be balanced with the F/R fader?
