Retrofit Bluetooth - Bolero software not compatible?!

Featured Replies

Hi there

Mobile Solutions in Derby were attempting to retrofit Bluetooth to my 2010 Octavia VRS.

It seems the bluetooth module (OEM VAG one) and the bolero software version (0053) are out of sync.

What worked:-

BT Audio

Some steering wheel controls

What didn't:-

Phonebook on the Bolero

BT Audio controls (skip track)

Is it likely if I get a software update from Skoda that issue could be fixed? Anyone any experience with this? I didn't fit the bluetooth based on it not working properly btw.

Incidentally the Mobile Solutions guy was very helpful, even did a few settings changes like one click unlock for free which was good of him.

Which Bluetooth module was it. I've just fitted a 5KO revision D. Get phonebook on bolero and full control on it. Don't have maxidot or mfsw.

The issue is with the radio

Had this a couple of times with RCD510 units

Don't know which version the Bluetooth kit is, but tried the OEM vag one and the OEM Skoda one.

Is a software update the most likely solution?

It is the Radio, don't know if the dealer can update

Thanks for the info - if they can't update, they'll have to replace as Bluetooth module compatibility is something it is designed to have!

I'm having the same issues - recently fit a Vag module - BT Audio works but doesn't show Track details , Fwd Back buttons don't work. Let me know if are able to resolve it -

Update:

Car was in today, according to the Dealer there are numerous faults logged in the system with the radio. They are now going to send the faults to Skoda to see what to do next. Glad that there is something to pursue, disappointed that they can't just replace the radio (the car is still under warranty) as I'll have to take the car in again at least one more time before its sorted.

Following a dealer software update, the fault codes have been resolved and the SD card access has gone from ~1 min to <1 second. Next step is to attempt to install the Bluetooth, fingers crossed :)
