2004 Octavia PD130 Estate. Excellent spec.

Featured Replies

Re-advertising this as I really just fancy moving back to an EP3 Civic now that I dont do a big commute.

Details are pretty much the same as when last advertised at the tail end of last year (see below) apart from mileage increase and the fact that the car flew through its MOT with no adviseries last week.

For sale is my 2004 Skoda Octavia Elegance TDI (PD130)

I have had this car for about 19 months and it has been a great car, but due to no longer needing a long commute car I am looking to sell this on (mainly work from home now). The car has been modified by previous owners and I will detail this later in the ad.

During my ownership it has sailed through its MOT’s and has been serviced regularly. It has just had 4 new Uniroyal Rain Sport II’s fitted (less than 500 miles ago) and has only required 3 things to be fixed during my ownership. This was the boost pipe which is a common issue as the ridges on the pipe become worn, the clips no longer can hold onto them and as such the pipe pops off. This was replaced with a genuine Skoda part last year and has been fine since. Drivers window regulator was replaced about a month or so ago. The only other item was the alternator which became seized earlier this year. That was also replaced and all has worked well since.

During my ownership it has pretty much always done motorway miles as I used to do a 100 mile commute to and from Milton Keynes. I always keep records of every fill up for MPG stats and the car has averaged 52.44 MPG. This has not been sitting at 65 though, and when traffic allows I usually sit at around 80 leptons. When I have tried economy driving (or least just sitting at 70) the car returns around 55-56mpg.

The only other thing I changed when I got the car was the rear seats as it only had 2x3 point seatbelts and a lap belt. As we have 3 kids I wanted to make sure all were ok (initially this was going to be main car but soon after we bought a Galaxy for the family). So I swapped the rear seats for those from a Golf GTI (Recaro’s). These are badged and the pattern matches the front seats which were from a Bora Sport (previous owner installed these). Also bought the extra seatbelt clip but as we soon changed to the Galaxy I never got round to fitting this.

The car has 13 stamps (most from Awesome and the rest mainly Skoda). These include the usual ones of cambelt, tensioners belts etc at appropriate times. Has also had an oil and filter change by myself in-between the garage services I had done.

There is a lot of paperwork for the history of this car as both the previous owners were Briskoda patrons and loved the car (Cav owned before me). In summary here are the main mods:

Milltek exhaust and decat fitted (still have the original Cat and pipework).

Jabba remap (to around 184bhp)

KW suspension (I have 2 spare rear dampers as Cav had 2 replaced that turned out to be fine)

Polybushed throughout (Lion garage noted the underneath to be exceptionally tidy last year when serviced).

Uprated rear ARB (neuspeed).

Turbo was also reconditioned mid 2010 by the previous owner as he wanted everything to be perfect.

Also has Skoda electric tow bar (as well as original bits which were removed from the bumper to fit).

The car drives excellent and also handles exceptionally well for a big estate car. Having owned many other good handling cars such as DC5 integra, EP3 Type R and CRX’s this really does well for a big car.

Like I say there is a lot of paperwork for all modifications and anyone viewing the car is welcome to go through this.

The MOT is until February 2013 (no advisories) and Tax (£125 per year) is until May 2013

The car is currently at 183638 miles but may increase slightly whilst the car is for sale.

Bad bits:

All cars have them and I want to be totally up front about everything as I know how frustrating it is to travel to see a car and only be disappointed. There is one ping on passenger side rear quarter. This is despite my best efforts to avoid this by always parking in remote places in car parks. The wheels whilst unkerbed need a good clean as some brake dust marks in the corners just wont come out with regular cleaning products.

The drivers side wing mirror has a crack at the bottom of the casing (pictured). It was like this when I bought the car but everything works fine. It just didn’t bother me enough to get it replaced. There is also a slight crack on the back of the passenger side, but this is a lot less noticeable.

Also odd stone chips which unfortunately occur (mainly on bonnet, front bumper and one or two at the front of the roof).

Also currently pictured is an aftermarket stereo. This will be removed and the standard Skoda head unit will be reifitted.

I think that is everything. If you have read through all of this thanks for taking the time. If I find anything else of point I will add to this advertisement.

Any questions then please feel to PM me or call me on 07957774447. Depending on where I am my phone signal can be pretty bad. If so I will try to call you back as soon as I can.

I am located in Leicestershire.

I am advertising this for £2350 but am open to sensible offers.

Thanks

Mark

Is this Matthew's old one? lovely looking car, GLWTS

Is it still on the original clutch?

Do you get any rattle from the DMF? Does it give any slip when booting it?

Hi,

I think the clutch was replaced but will have to go through the paperwork to confirm. Nope, no slipping when foot down. Not sure what DMF is but havent noticed any rattles.

Thanks

Just applying for number plate retention today. Just making any potential buyers aware of this as it usually takes a week or 2 to be processed.

Thanks

Mark

If the clutch hasn't been changed since my ownership I had a Sach's Organic fitted and kept the DMF as there was little wear on it according to the mechanic who fitted the clutch.

This is a great sleeper, fantastic grunt with suspension/brake mods to match yet with all the economy of an eco car

On the offchance would you be interested in a px with a nice mk1 golf gti cabriolet?

Love these cars but am set on going back to a Honda. Thanks for the interest anyway.

On a side note the car has just developed to small issues which I want to get fixed first. Discovered wet carpet in drivers side rear footwell and think it might be sunroof drainage related as door seals are fine. In last week it has also developed an annoying squeek (mainly noticeable when reversing) but also happens on motorway. This goes briefly when I dab the brakes. I think this may be to do with rear calipers not releasing or a general fault which requires some kit to fix (pads are fine). So I will be looking to get these sorted before the car is sold as I would not like to sell when it has some sort of problem that I know of.

Will update thread when fixed and back for sale.

Thanks

Mark
