Wind Deflectors and Electric Windows

Featured Replies

Now then I did a quick search and haven't found an answer on the Fabia II forum so forgive me if this has been asked before.

I want to add Wind deflectors to my Fabia, however the one's I have seen on Ebay say they are not compatible with any form of auto opening window's. Does that mean that If you have Electric windows they will interfere with them and affect the operation of them? I have front and rear electric windows so I take it they have the anti pinch function, so is that what could be the problem?

My reasons for wanting them fitted mainly is this, I do not like the amount of rain that comes in when I have the window cracked even just the smallest amount. I have never know a car as bad for this, and that only after a two week ownership. Mind you its the only Niggle so far I love just about everything else about my Junior Snow monster.....(its covered with snow today)

All thoughts welcome. Help from those who have them fitted would be most welcome.

I had them on my altea and they where fine, if fitted properly and you get good ones they'll be fine

I have Team Heko deflectors on my Octavia and have no problems with the electric windows front or rear

I had skoda ones on my Fabia. Occasional problems with them bouncing back on the anti pinch function but mainly very good.

Thinking of having wind deflectors fitted at its next service, anyone any idea how much dealer should charge to supply to supply and fit fronts only without ripping me off.

Hi, I fitted a full set of wind deflectors to my Fabia ll over a year ago now which I purchased off amazon, there has been a couple of times when the drivers window refused to close on the first attempt which I would add was in very warm weather (yes in this country) but it was easily sorted from the drivers seat by pushing the deflector up a little but no problems from the other windows and like you all are electric.

They not only do the job but look great a good investment in my opinion.

I fitted the genuine Skoda ones, but they were Climair, cost about £33, if memory serves. I spent about 10 minutes tops fitting them myself. I've had them on my last 5 cars, first thing I buy for a new car, and wouldn't be without them on the front windows.

Got some on order from an online auction site. Say they are Skoda originals so Fingers crossed. They were less than the Published Skoda price with free P&P. Will let you all know how they fit and quality etc.....Thanks for all the replies.

Well the Deflectors arrived yesterday and I fitted them in no time. Then I had the problems start! When I closed the windows using the key they all went up and then dropped down. I had lots of trouble getting them to close but eventually managed it. I ended up sitting in the car and flicking the switches a little at a time to get them closed. This is fine when your not on the move and its dry but what happens when you on the move and you just happen to give the switch that longer burst and the window starts to auto close and then drop down? Not good.

The Deflectors that arrived were not Skoda originals but Heko ones. These fit into the channel the window closes into and are held in place by Small sections of self adhesive strips that hold the deflectors to the rubber outer seal (on the inside). The deflectors come with metal clips and I have questions about these. Where do you place these? Will the addition of these prevent the Windows doing their drop down dance? How do you even get these clips that are quite wide into the narrow channel?

Having said all that the deflectors look nice and add the protection from wet arms I was after. Tested this morning only closed the window when at stand still when I got home from work. So no worries about being soaked while on the dive home. Little steps.....
