Hi,

I'm thinking of fitting a 6 Speed Vrs gear box to my non-vrs fabia. I have tried searching but to no avail. I have a few questions before buying one:

1. Does it matter what engine Vrs it has come from?

2. Will it fit straight into my fabia?

3. Would I need anything else apart from the gearbox to make it fit, e.g. Clutch and Fly-wheel?

1 - No

2 - "Yes" - it will fit right up to your engine

3 - As well as clutch mentioned, you need the driveshafts, starter motor, gearbox cables (so might as well change the whole thing including the gearknob in the cabin), I also think the subframe in some form needs changing for the vRS one.

Basically - a complete ballache.

I'd love to get my hands on a complete 6 speed box...

You can pick up a 2nd hand vRS for the sort of money it will

cost you to do the transplant properly.

I wouldn't bother myself. You'll struggle to shift it when you come

to sell it as well. I know I wouldn't touch one that had had that done.
