Occassionally when driving my recently aquired 2006 Fabia Estate, a single electronic pinging sound is heard, there are no warning lights, (reminds me of a seat belt warning I've heard in the past). Anyone have any ideas on what this might be?

Temp dropping below 4c?

Yep....a warning that the temp has dropped below 4c and that ice is possible.

It's accompanied by the temperature flashing in the trip computer display for a few seconds.

Thats a big help, thanks for the info, I don't have a car handbook, so I am finding things out as I go along.
