Right well me spanner started flashing saying oil which I'm assuming means its due an oil change ?

Question is

1. How do I remove said spanner after I service it will it need vagcom

2. What's the best oil to use

3. What's the best oil filter and fuel filter to use.

I'm putting an engine flush through it for 70-80 mile before service clear some of the sheite out the engine

Within the manual it tell you how to clear the service indicator, sorry cannot remember the steps off the top of my head.

I've always used Hengst oil and fuel filters, can get them fairly cheap off Euro Car Parts or CarParts4Less. They do Guttmann ones too but I've been told they're not that good quality.

cool cheers just need to find out which is the best oil to use now and im sorted also bought a continental timing belt with tensioner for when i do me head gasket

Don't know about the best oil, as I always get the TripleQX oil for PD engines off EuroCarParts. Does the job, but would like to know if there are any better alternatives.

i use the quantum platinum 5w40, just called into TPS and asked for some oil for my fabia vrs and that is what they gave me, so must be right, cost me £19.07 special promo from £27.35 and my spanner is flashing too sure you press the mileage reset button and hold in or turn, can't find my manual at the moment.

Best using genuine filters from skoda and skoda oil (quantum platinum or the better quantum longlife 3)

totally agree Bigjase, get all my servicing parts from TPS or if not in a rush order them through Skodaparts.com, i'm run the longlife 3 through the winter and i'm going on the next oil change use the platinum during the summer.

1. How do I remove said spanner after I service it will it need vagcom. VCDS is easiest - one button reset. There is a step involving sequence of ignition, odometer push in, twist/hold. I don't remember it as owning VCDS I always use that option.

2. What's the best oil to use. I use Quantum platinum 5w 40 PD. Good enough for dealers, good enough for me!
