New Autocar review - 2 litre 150ps TDI tested...

Featured Replies

Same steering wheel as te fabia vrs gets now. Also the reviewer gets that it has moved up a segment in terms of size. Most are still comparing it to a Golf or Astra.

Edit - steering wheel isn't quite the same, as it doesn't have perforated leather on the Octavia.

Interesting that they think the cabin quality is a notch down on VW. Doesn't match other reviews which say the Skoda matches VW in that dept.

Otherwise, a good review. Once the multi-link rear suspension comes in the vRS and Scout (?), the reviews should be even better!

I have noticed that in the interior pic, the parking brake has been left configured for lhd.

is that going to be a niggle??

Well spotted - that'll definitely niggle me. One of the (many) things I like with the current octavia is that the handbrake's on the correct side. That'll be a frustration if it doesn't change.

Sarge.

I'm with Sarge on this one. It's another sign of cost cutting on the part of VAG imo and that would bother me, big time.

I'm half tempted to look at getting a Stock Exclusive of the Mark 2 but will wait until I sit into the new model before I make any decisions.
