Title sums it up really, I have a basic car knowledge, but I'd like too firstly ask if their is any way too get rid of the annoying light flicker I get at slow speeds. Not a clue what it is. No doubt there is a thread, but I cant work this properly just yet. And also, the only mechanical fault with the car is the catalytic converter rattles, any chance any of you fine folk are selling/know anywhere for good prices? Cheers for any help

Lights dimming on slow maneuvers are normal to a greater or lesser extent. The Fabia has an electro hydraulic pump, it's high drain and when the car is at low speeds that drain causes the lights to dim as the revs have to rise to compensate. It can also be a symptom of angle sensor failure but if you don't have a warning light on the dash and the steering weight doesn't change don't worry about it too much.

light flicker from where??

and as the cat buy a decat save the hasstle i think theres one for sale in the for sale section

as for here welcome to the forum and im sure any help will be given by most decent guys on here ;)

The steering weight does have a tendacy too change after long journeys yes, so do I have somthing too worry about now  and Cheers for the surprisingly quick replies! And the light flicker is from pretty much everything, headlight, dash... its only a short lived flicker, literally 'til I've pulled out my drive.

lights etc on all cars dim down at tick over when manoeuvring as avalon says its the power steering taking more power .. if you rev the car a little while manoeuvring it does lessen it a little but still noticeable. As for a rattley car you can get a decat , new cat from dealer, gsf car parts , tps etc.... or look out for a second hand one ....

I'd suggest a quick search/read the threads on angle sensor failure. It's not a massive issue, the parts are £100ish after rebate from a dealer but to do the job you will at the very least want the car up on ramps or stands, it's a lot easier on garage ramps but is a DIY job.
