New discs and pads all round and painted callipers under

Featured Replies

My callipers were looking pretty sorry forthemselves with paint missing so really wanted to tart these up. Also my discs were minging, the rears were heavilly pitted so was on the lookout for new discs and pads. Wanted to do the 312mm upgrade but just couldn't afford it at the min.

Rang all the local motor factors and wth trade discount was looking at about £115. ECP with brisk25 code was around £95 but then i happened to come across www.carparts4less.co.uk which is the exact same website as ECP and same part numbers but alot cheaper!! Used the save10 code and got 10% off so ended up at £80 and I pad £3.99 for next day delivery. Went for eicher discs but went for the pagid pads. My Dad was reccomended pagid fo his 911 and he likes them so I thought if the 400bhp porsche blokes were using them they'd be fine for me!! The paint is rover java green from halfords by the way, not a bad match to be fair abit glossier than the actual paint but does the job. Anyway heres some pics:

The callipers wont win me any concourse awards but they do look 10 times better. All in all for under £90 Im happy. Did a few miles in it and although they need to bed in and I cant brake hard it feels alot better than before but once Ive done a few hundred miles I will report back. If anyone wants the part numbers I will list them just let me know.

Also found some universal 5mm spacers so stuck them on the rears, looks abit better. Might buy some for the front too.

I did want to spray my wheels and grill black today but the brakes didnt turn up until 1.30 so didnt get time but Im sure I will get hem done soon.

What paint are you going to use?

That caliper paint is a good match. Looks very neat :)

What paint are you going to use?

Same as youhave used. Looks gd mate.

I'm thinking of getting some john deere green paint for my calipers when the weather improves. A spray of lacquer would bring up the shine on them.

Also anyone know what screws/bolts holds the disk to the hub. None on mine and the disks move about...

The rover paint I used is quite shiny anyway so no need to lacquer. If anything the original paint isn't as shiny but wether it was when they were new I'm not sure of. It's a torx t25 screw mate

Looks sweet but how bad are your rear discs

How does yours feel now? What discs and pads did you go for?

A lot better! Went for Pagid all round, including the 312mm upgrade. Pedal was nearly going to the floor previously, but not now. Brake fluid is due for renewal but hasn't been changed yet, so I guess that'll improve things more.
