  • I'd add the MDI because it keeps the power hungry iPhone charged. Streaming the music via Bluetooth works perfect BUT you still need a cable to the phone to keep it juiced up alas. This is an image

So Gobi sand or Onyx leather? (At least I'm keeping you lot occupied on a Sunday evening)

Car will be white.

You will find that Gobi and white is one of the "not recommended" combinations in the Škoda colour chart. Beige seats and white cars hardly ever really look good together (sorry Rockhopper).

Two more personal things:

1. Beige dashboards still have black shadows between all the different panels and this makes the different panels VERY obvious. On a black dash you see just "the dash" and not all the constituent parts.

2. If you wear jeans a lot you WILL colour your driver's squabs blue within the first year.

So again my choice for you is:

Elegance, onyx, sunroof, TPM, heated windscreen, MDI and spare.

If I'm going to have leather then I could live with either colour.

But I do really like the gobi sand.

I went for Gobi to make the cabin feel lighter, plus I like the colour. In other threads it's been pointed out that the panoramic sunroof does that job for you. Johann is right in the colour transfer from material like denim. I use a leather cleaner regularly to keep the Gobi from turning Onyx from a pair of black trousers I have. Gobi is pretty much obligatory with either Cappuccino or Muscovado (really suits those colours) but with your other options Onyx is a great choice.

Nice!

I have the Onyx leather. The heated seats have been switched on on every trip during this weather,

+1

I find the standard Bolero setup very good. My radio is permanently tuned to TalkSport and the quality is superb. :giggle:

I've decided to add columbus sat nav to my order.

It would only annoy me for the next three years if I didn't get it, so have emailed dealer to add it. It will help me find my way back home from Englandshire when I pick the car up

Also asked about a potential build week as I haven't been given one so far.

Think you've made the right decision to go with the Columbus Sat Nav - its easy to use and really well integrated with the rest of the car. We've just picked ours up this afternoon - faultless instructions to get home and its shows a picture of how close you are to any obstacles when you park - very clear and simple.

Hope it arrives very soon!

Thought I'd revive this thread with update and new question.

I now have two sets of rubber car mats (don't ask) and a rubber boot liner for my new monster when he is finally born.

Oh and a usb car charger thingy for my phone since I'm not getting the MDI.

I'm wondering if the mudguards (being careful re wording here..ha!) are worth getting as I've seen mixed reports on here as to whether they actually keep mud etc off the car.

Thoughts anyone?

They do seem to keep a certain amount of grime off paintwork but certainly not the best I've come across, I believe certain members have made made up mudguards to their own spec which give better protection.

They don't keep much mud off but I reckon they help with reducing stone flicks and chips directly behind the wheel arch. If you want proper protection then, as said earlier, you might want some custom made ones.

Hmmm ok.

Maybe I'll make some out of the extra set of rubber mats I've acquired :p

For the price I thought it better to fit them than not, they make it look chunkier when you are following one too :-)

The front mud****s do seem to move the muck a bit further back along the sides. Better with than without, IMHO.

TP did a thread a month or 2 back about bigger mud flaps reducers he was having made for his fabia, and was thinking of getting the firm to make some for the yeti which I and a few others said we would be interested in, I am hoping he will have something in the pipeline

Snowfoam stuff has arrived too so I'll try it out/get some practise on the Juke, it could do with a wash

Flaps, rubber ... oh forget it, I'm going sailing!
