new head unit with old cd changer (mk1 vrs)

Featured Replies

Hi, I want to change the head unit for one with iPod connectivity but would like to keep the standard 6 cd changer active, is this possible?

not as far as im aware.

Do you mean aftermarket headunit or a different skoda/vag unit?

Was hoping the standard changer - located under the seat, along with an after market head unit, that is iPod compatible.

I'v got a Pioneer head unit & the original CD changer in the boot. It was fitted when I bought the car so not sure if it's a simple plug & play or if a wiring adaptor was used.

what pioneer headunit have you got?

Not sure exactly, I'll have a look at it tomorrow for a model number. All I know is that it lights up green to match the dash lights! :|

reason i ask is pioneers of the last 10 years or so all used a system called ipbus for auxiliary items such as cd changers meaning its impossible to wire up the oem changer to a pioneer of that age
