Awesome, thanks for pointing this out :)

Nice one, thankyou. Just need to them to bring the whole program where you can change all the settings etc for the Mac.

you can change all the settings, go to preferences, everything the same as PC

Been out for a while, kept putting me in the North Sea when looking on the map lol but was fine using windows...

Thankfully now fixed :)

Save having to use boot camp.

Shame about having to use it for fw upgrades still.

You have lost me, I use the MAC version exactly the same as the PC version, what is boot camp?

Boots windoze on my mac.....

The firmware can't be upgraded for the DR400G without using windoze unfortunately. Yes you can change the settings for the SD card, but to run the latest f/w you need windoze .

Sent using whatever device I'm using at the time.

Look in your Utilities folder. You can run bootcamp and install windows on the mac (dual boot). I have parallels as well, but a program i use, ProPresenter (which I only have a windoze licence for) doesn't work in a virtual machine. I don't use it enough to warrant the expense of the mac licence.

OK, I am with you now, I really haven't delved that deeply into the world of MAC, I stay on the user friendly side of things where I know what I am doing lol.

Just out of interest, has there been a firmware upgrade for the 400 in the last 12 months?

A new update is available for the Black Vue viewer for Mac, update includes more time zones added and most importantly a few bug fixes.

Original version above is 1.001 this is now version 1.002

To any Blackvue user out there. Funnily enough i was looking at these yesterday and thought that would be a nice idea. Anyone know if they use suction cups? or some other method to stick to screen? can they easily be detached and reattached with minimum fuss? do they have an inbuilt battery or have they got to run off 12v? have heard some folks hard wiring it into car battery?

My other half said to me the other day...trying to put me off looking at these that it would be simply a target for thieves unless i detach it each time I exit my vehicle.

They have a sticky pad that sticks the camera holder to the windscreen, you then simply remove the camera from the holder. I have a holder in the Yeti and the Fabia and simply switch the camera between cars.

Have a look HERE you will see the windscreen mount on the right.

They have a tiny battery, just so it shuts down cleanly. It otherwise needs a power feed, which I have ignition switched.

I want a unit that comes with software compatible with Apple's OSX.

The 2 main contenders seem to be Blackvue or Roadhawk, and they are both for Windows.

I leave mine in the car all the time. They work in park mode when the car is stationary for 10 minutes or more. You can turn this off.

I do park in some quite rough areas of South London and never had a problem with theft. They are quite discrete.

The Blackvue has a OSX viewer, but if there is a new version of firmware you will need windows to upgrade it as it is an exe file.

You can view the videos using Preview without using the viewer.
