Vrs Tuning T3 Conversion

Featured Replies

i am currantly fitting a t3 to my vrs can any one give any advice on who will be the best to map it many thanks

I can't advise you on who is the best but, since your engine won't be 'standard' after the turbo change, it sounds like your car would benefit from a custom remap rather than an off the shelf chip/programme. Jabbasport have a good reputation with members who have had engine tuning carried out by them, and their remap is individually tailored to your car and your preferences. BTW, have you had a look at this FAQ?

As Denis has said - it won't be standard - there are only a few companies with a good enough rep to even consider - Denis has mentioned Jabba - who seem very popular with Briskoda members - there is also AmD they have been in this field for many years.

Personally I would go for Jabba(I am doing so) -- I have heard nothing but praise from both Briskoda members and my own customers who have had work done by them.

Mat,

I've spoken to Mike at Jabba. He will remap a car with a turbo conversion done by someone other than himself. Reason I asked was due to the delays in their turbo kits. Have now found a company who can provide the IHI he uses (or GT28, GT30 etc), manifold and downpipe adapter plate pretty much next day.

I assume if you are going T3 route you are changing injectors, FPR and fuel pump. Just had a look at the compressor map for the T3, looks like you'll be having fun. Recommend you look into getting Racelogic fitted. If you need some contacts for fitters, let me know and I'll send you some numbers.

motorsports developments can also map your car...

speak to kenny ;)

Will the T3 be a bit "laggy" compared to the GT series roller bearing or IHI roller bearing units?

Hi Bill,

nice to see you've found your way back.

Cheers.

Adrian.

What's a T3? Obviously a turbo from previous messages but what make and why is it better?

T3 is Garett as used on old Cossies and RS turbo's

There are more advanced turbos around now in the form of roller bearing turbo's whose advantages include faster spool up and bearing/seal reliability for their given size. = less lag typically.

Hi Adrian.. yep found my way back again and sorted my logon p'words again. - Cheers :D

regards

bill

yes it would be a little laggy.. and would wheelspin like a ****** when it did come in...
