Lucky lucky man! Very jealous! And the dogs are gorgeous by the way! Sorry to hear about the other pup. :'(

Ed, great choice! The vRS Mk 2 estate is a fantastic all round car!

Your taxi-baiting mates will soon realise what a brilliant car you have and I predict one or more of them will follow you into Skoda ownership!

Also love Black Labs! We (well the parents-in-law) have a 13 year old lady! So enjoy your new dog too!

Cheers, Dunc

Well now covered about 900 miles in the car and im still over the moon with it. Second tank of diesel about done and its showing 47mpg over the tank. Cannot complain at that as i dont really do any long journeys 17-18 miles is my usual max.

Has a detachable towbar fitted today for my bike rack, cost £322 fitted which i think is a lot but i think its worth it. To be honest you wouldnt even know its fitted once the tow ball is detached and the electrics retracted.

Only issue i have had so far was caused by our new lab pup poppy (13 wks old) who i left in the boot for an hour last week with our adult dog oscar. Despite having 6 toys in the boot to chew she decided to chew the rubber boot handle, the boot mat and absolutely scratch to bits one of the interior panels below the rear side window. It looks a mess but i suppose thats what I bought an estate for. The panel could always be replaced if i ever sell and the pup should groww out of chewing soon.

Well still loving the car, showing about 43mpg so far in its first tank.Paid off the finance today so it worked out i paid £18122 for a brand new vrs cr manual estate with metallic, rear parking sensors, variable boot floor, alcantara pack, spare wheel and three years servicing (which vw confirmed i will still get) I am over the bloody moon with that! Thats against a full list price of £23400 so £5278 off list which isnt too shabby.Lot of car for the money I think(cue someone telling me i coulf have got it cheaper elsewhere lol)
If you stole it maybe! There's a lot of happy campers about who've bought a new mkII vRS while all the offers have been on for exactly the same reason.Shame about the dog chewing the boot up though.... might be able to get a second hand one from a breakers at some point?enjoy....

well theres the third tank of fuel used, just worked it out ag 46.5mpg against the display of 47.2. Im happy with that as about 10mpg more than my evoque was getting. Its especailly good as about 150 miles of that was a trip to the lakes over hartside pass, fully laden with 2 dogs in the boot and 2 mountain bikes on the towbar.

Still really happy with the car.

I've a dog too (a German Shepherd) and that's the main reason I chose an estate (after my carry-all Kangoo).

As she (the dog) is "a bit" hysterical" about... well, almost everything (bikers, motorbikers, other dogs and pretty about everything moving), I decided to buy a huge cage to trasport her.

In my old Kangoo, despite having her tied to boot rings, each time she jumped around she scarred everything inside with her claws.

Here's a pic of her: Stella

Its those taxi drivers who put skoda back on the map.

Yes agreed. Last time I went to Bridgend the rank outside the station was nearly all Skoda Octavias but there was a Superb or two. Also a former colleague of mine said his brother had a taxi firm in Glasgow (IIRC) that was all Skoda because of the reliability of them.

As for where I work now we have 2 Fabias and 3 Superbs but we have just sold one of the Superbs to a taxi firm in West Somerset. When the Superbs are not out on hire my colleagues and I use them as runners for taking colleagues around in: they are popular with clients and colleagues alike.

On the Octavia front I can't believe 4 weeks has gone past already since I picked up my Octavia SE. Really like it though. Nice choice of colour Ed: enjoy!
