Money no object - Whats the best suspension to get?

Featured Replies

As the title, with money being no object, whats the best suspension/coilovers to go for? Im pretty sick off my cheap £200 coilovers and will be looking to purchase some expensive suspension

honestly mate they are sooo bad, they dont take any shock as i have snapped 2 driveshafts since they have been on! The most uncomfortable ride i have ever had! I dont want to go as extreme as air suspension lol im thinking more along the lines of the best coilover for my car

Eibach Pro Street Coilovers I have been told are very good!

Out of my price range, I am buying GAZ GHA's

I have eibach pro streets and they are top quality! Had them on for about 7 years and 70k miles and they are perfect. Good ride quality compared to cheap tat and great handling. No rust either as they use quality materials.

I have KW Variant 3 - expensive but superb!!

Yes the KW 3's are really good too!

Nitron (probably have to be custom made) would be my choice.

How much are the gaz?

I have heard good things about Gaz but had no experience with them.

I have experience with Bilstein and the ride quality is superb for an uprated suspension setup ;)

How much are the gaz?

For my Golf they are £552 with free delivery from Larkspeed in Leeds, these are also tailored to what you want, I believe there is a three week lead time on them, I have to weigh my car and tell them what I will be doing with the car when fitted, in the case of the Golf it will be track only, so a different set up to if I was using it on the road.

I also like the fact you can return one if it gets damaged or needs repair.

What is the budget?

Money no object probably bilstein coils or kw v3's

A good compromise for a fabia vrs is kw varient 1's! Dont need anything more on a fabia road car imo

Id love KW V3's. Supposed to be as good as it gets!

AIR

AIR

Airs just for show!

Not for handling

sorry wrong thread.....

I believe llanigraham is a big fan of air suspension...... lol.

How easy is it to fit air suspension and how does it perform on track applications? I assume a compressor also needs to be fitted, is there any other trickery needed?

A decent setup though not low or adjustable is Eibach pro-kit springs and pro-damper. Prices on Jabba website had me wincing a bit.... You're looking at around £680-£700 plus fitting or "negotiation".

I reckon you should aim to spend that amount on coillies. At which point you're into KW V1s, 2s, Weitecs... probably topping out with the Bilstein B16 PSS9 kit at around £1200-£1300.

You might have to look about a bit to find someone running it though.

My vote is OEM.

If you want a better handling car.... buy another car as the Fabia MK1 fundamentally flawed.

OEM is the best compromise.

You cant polish a turd - save your money and put it towards a better car.

air still handles well considering theres a skyline drift car running it so not that bad

Your vote is wrong.

You cant polish a turd -

No. But you can sprinkle glitter on it ;)

Your vote is wrong.

My vote is only wrong if your:

1. Deluded

2. Justifying the fact you spent a load of money already on 'upgraded' suspension.

Putting the whole "Buy another car" aside as the OP asked for some better suspension options! (Like you said yourself) The standard suspension on a Fabia is awful, you sit as high as a 4x4 and the body roll is terrible... So how can you possibly say that standard is the best compromise when there are upgrades available which dramatically improve the handling?

I stand by what i said, your vote is wrong

(only my opinion of course)

Your opinion I guess!!

and - I would say the amount I have spent on my suspension is more than justified by the way it now handles, certainly not a "Turd"

:D actually loling, because drifting is the epitome of good handling cars.
