It is Nuria trying to register a Spanish car in UK

Featured Replies

Hi

My name is Nuria and I live in Cardiff. Sorry if my English is not good and I hope to be easily undestood.

I am getting mad with DVLA requirements to register an used Spanish Skoda Roomster into UK. I love my car and I have always thought it was a very easy procedure but If everything is that difficult I'd rather to sell mine and buy an UK car. Some of requirements are already sorted out as MOT and insurance but there are other which I would like some advising.

1) Change Rear Fog Light to the off-side.

2) Speedometer in mph...

3) Headlamps permanently adjusted to dip to the left (stickers were accepted by MOT but not for DVLA, beam either replaced or adjusted)

I have heard about £500 - 700 to make this changes in a garage, but...I believe this car is fully prepared to make this changes, so maybe, it is just necessary to change bulb and cable to a correct place or buy some spares on ebay or other or operate a switch. I have been reading some articles in your forum about connecting twin fog lamps and it should be that easy...I can't find any information, diagram, specifications other than manual and It is not useful in this issue. Maybe you could recommend me a garage specialized in these things.

Other requeriment is a "commission notice letter from the UK manufacturig agent". Is it the same than a Certificate on Conformity?

Thanks

Thanks. I just have found on forum how to change headlight beam to a "flat mode" with a lever or activate "tourist light" for fog corner lights and VCA doesn't accept any of them.

Is the speedometer not marked in both miles and kilometres? Would it not be a matter of replacing the headlamps and taillamps from ebay or a local scrap yard or AtoZ.

Hi and welcome aboard.

I could hardly read that as it was to small.
