Hi All

I have a problem with the armrest / storage box. When driving the car, the armrest hinge squeaks almost constantly. It sounds a bit like a budgie twittering in your ear and it is doing my head in. The dealer fixed it just before the warranty ran out and it was quiet for a few days before the noise came back.

Any ideas how to fix it?

Yup, if it was fixed under warranty and under a year since then, take it back again and if they don't adjust it to fix it ask for a replacement unit.

My dealer didin't bother faffing around when the air con clip wouldn't stay lifted up and just replaced the entire unit! Less hassle for them.

I tried the dealer a few days after the warranty ran out and they will only look at it if they charge me.

Wasnt impressed so would rather fix it myself.

Your dealer has taken the easy option in the hope you'll cough up or go away. Seems it paid off.

Ring Skoda UK, complain and force them to take the hard route.

Seriously, complain to SUK, you shouldn't be treated like that. Most dealers won't touch another dealer's repair work for free, but they probably would with authorisation from head office if you said you had no faith in that particular dealer.
