engine shudder/clutch/notchy gears?

Featured Replies

Right, my gears feal notchy to engaged, thought it could just be them wearing in and all that.

Have covered 4k now

but just found out today that if i dap the accelerator whilst standing still with the clutch out, it jst rev's

but if i do it with the clutch depressed, you can feal the car and engine shake slighty.

is this normal or what??

any ideas pointers theorys??

cheers

Perfectly normal... the clutch is a heavy bugger to handle all that torque, with clutch pressed the engine doesnt have to drag the clutch and gearbox mainshaft with it when blipping the throttle, which is why it revs quicker

My gears where notch from new particularly 2nd-3rd and with 2000 miles up it was no better, so I took it to the dealers last Wednesday and they adjusted something which has done the trick, nice and smooth now,I also had a rattle which turned out to be the exhaust heat shield so all sorted now, I think you should pop it back in for the day.

Neo, its the other way round, with the clutch pedal not pressed down (ie. engine turning clutch/gearbox etc etc) it revs easier and quicker.

but with the pedal down so its jst the engine turning, thats when it all shakes
