Inner black headlights?

Featured Replies

Hi all, ive seen on Gees project journal, how to do the inner black headlight mod. As im not capable, i was wondering if anyone would be able to do it for me? I would travel to you, and pay whatever you charge, hopefully wont be ££££££££££ lol :)

It's easy enough but it's a full days job because of priming and painting etc.

That might make it tricky for someone else to do it.

Honestly it's not that difficult or specialised, I used primer and a rattle can of BBQ paint. Splitting the lights just takes a bit of heat and patience.

Don't know who would do it for you really, could be hard to put a price on the cut fingers from the stanley blade. :giggle:

ive got a spare set of light id be willing to paint an sell

Lol I just want the outer to be done to be honest, nice and subtle :-)

Are you mad? It improves the headlights by a factor of 7000! Chrome looks horrible and the addition of black bits breaks up the paintwork nicely.

Azzy - make sure you get hold of some black indicators too.

This is one of the best cosmetic mods you'll ever make - you won't be sorry :)

Lol I saw the one on eBay, and too much of the inner has been sprayed for my liking :-( lol The Octy above is perfect! Tactical-willing to sell, or swap for my lovely chrome inner headlights, with £££ your way? ^_^ lol

I'd never get rid of mine, I love them too much! I could make some for you if you wanted, but it would take a while. I work full-time nights, so daylight is a premium and they aren't the easiest of things to get into (the glue holding them together is ridiculously strong). Took me a week of gently heat gunning and prising them open :dull:

With work, etc, you'd be looking at well over a month for me to finish them. Plus, they'd be a bit pricey - a new set of headlights would be £100 before I've even bought paint, etc.
