Would this be a bad idea.1 cupra bush and 1 original Bush

Featured Replies

My left hand original Bush has gone but the right one is ok.I am thinking of having the cupra one fitted on the left and leaving the original vrs one in on the right. Will it drive all p*ssd or will I not notice it.

Or shall I just get another original fitted or change both for cupra ones

Thanks

The first rule of running gear is what you do to one side you do to the other, it's a cheap enough job to do so why would you do a half arsed job?

Suspect they are equally worn out, even if they don't appear to be. Best do both with cupras

I'm going to shave my face but only one side

Wife is going to do her legs too, well actually only the left one

I'm doing the dishes later. Well I'm actually only going to clean half the plate and eat of that side, waste of effort cleaning all of it isn't it ?

Does this make sense ? No ? Hopefully you got the point now

Ok cheers.2 cupras it is then.I can't do it myself and being a tight a$$ I can get 1 bush done for £40 or both for £80 haha. The left is definately buggered though from all the potholes.

You could pay £47 for a pair of Powerflex 2 part bushes and it becomes a reasonably straight forward DIY job as no press or special tools are required. The down side is some diesel owners have complained about vibration.

@Avalon: Where's the cheapest place to buy the powerflex 2 part console bushes?

Ebay, only place I found with decent prices when I got mine.

the cheapest I could find the 2 part powerflex bush kit for was £94.80 :(

Under £60 from any of the usual suspects via eBay, I'll guess about the same direct from DT where I got my set from.

Powerflex prices have gone up lately. Cheapest i can find at the mo is around £55

Had it up on the ramps on the weekend.Apparently some idiot had fitted some dodgy pattern part bush instead of the original which I have on the right.Bloody thing doesn't even look the same and isn't even in the housing properly and only has two rubbers holding the centre of the bush on

That's the old style bush. They updated the design later (at some point) to the X shape one.

Thanks for that eric. The x one looks a lot more durable.Hopefully this lemforder one I ordered from euro parts is the x one.Wondered why it went at 40k and the other at 70k

That's the old style bush. It's obviously flawed by design, the new style ones have horizontal supports.

Yep avalon, that's the victim.Do you know the part number for the later one, mine is an 05 plate.Do you which year they changed them. Those powerflexes are a bit expensive for me,plus I've heard they are a bit too hard

The Powerflex's are a DIY job requiring no special tools and only allowing rotational movement making the job quicker so what you spend on them you should save on labour if your paying and ball ache if you're doing it yourself, they also have a lifetime warranty. The non solid bushes like the new X type aren't as rigid, the cupra bushes are solid and should offer the best compromise. *Some* diesel owners have found Powerflex to cause vibration but others haven't.

price is excluding VAT. But even including Its only just over £47 without delivery.

Thanks for all the help.I ended up buying the x shape for now,as the ther side is alright.

Should last me 70k then the car would have done 180k and probably on it's way out anyway
