HELP! - Rear tailgate strut bolt has come off

Featured Replies

Hi all

The rear tailgate strut has come off, the part where it is bolted to the car has come loose and I pulled it and got the clunk of the bolt dropping down!

Anyone know how I access this to get the bolt before I admit defeat and have to get the dealer to do it?

Thanks

Its a 2006 estate

Hi

Not quite

The bit I need to screw back into the bodywork is the bolt and when I think this is a receiving bolt on the other side that has come loose. This has fallen behind the panel.

Think I need to remove the rear trim and then access it?

Tried removing the rear trim but never removed it before and do not want to break it

Have found this to help me get to the trim I need to.

I believe this has to come off first and then the trim down the side of the boot?

Tried to pull it off but worried about breaking it as it a tough thing to get off

Just wondered if there are people out there who have done this?

The car is under Skoda's used car warranty so wondered if this was claimable before I start dismantling the car?

Cheers

All credit to the dealer they said they would fix, even though it involves removing most of the back end of the car :)
