A couple of questions on some mods...

Featured Replies

I think you'd at least need bigger injectors to get the level of fuel required to gain 50BHP

Your engine tuner is probably very good and I sincerely hope that he can give you the gains which he has promised (and I'm sure he will on his rollers.)

I for one do not have a problem with the 2.0 petrol engine' date=' I think it is great it is after all the same as used in the Golf GTI.

As has been pointed out to you on here in this thread: gaining over 50BHP on a N/A car with a remap an exhaust and an induction kit is not credible. If you had said he was going to do the cams and port the head as well, then I'd be inclined to go with what he said. Oh and with a turbo it is a shedload easier to make big power gains.

We are just looking out for you, in a way, no-one wants you (or anyone else for that matter) getting ripped off.

Peace.[/quote']

Thanks. Now I feel like a fool. You guys are ultra-cool for keeping your cool, I'm used to someone lashing back at me.

Let's see if I can get these mods done after my warranty voids, for all those mods I mentioned the price comes to about GBP450.

Hey no worries, we are all here to help you at the end that's why you joined the forum for good sound advice.

doing that lot an octavia vRS might gain you 50bhp, good luck with your mods though :)

i wasn't saying you wouldn't gain just that the quoted 50bhp sounded a bit high, take every figure with a pinch of salt mate, me i'm going to get my car RR'd a rew times then quote the average!!

If I can get 160BHP I'll be more than happy.

Thanks for everything guys.

Briskoda =#1!

No worries and I do hope I didn't come across as too much of a patronising tw@ ;)

As I said many moons ago, in a different incarnation, when it comes to tuning your pride and joy you need to have a relationship / rapport with your tuner. Do you trust what he says? Is he a nice guy? That to me is more important than the actual results. For example, I could have got slightly more out of my car but I went with someone I felt I could trust, who had a good reputation and I felt would do what was best for my car (ie over-ridding my inate lunacy :D ).

That "feeling" you have with / about your tuner is more important than the opinions of a "bunch on internet saddos" :D

On the other hand, over here we are spoilt for choice and you don't have as many (if any options).

Me, I don't quote figures, I just say it is "adequate", as per my sig :D

Oh and shall I get on my soapbox about how the figures ain't worth shiiiittte, it is all about the amount of space below the lines? ;)

very true :)

to give an example of what a tuner here says this is a respected tuner of many years in oxford, UK

From Cliosport

"Roamers Clio 172 (psi) today produced 212 bhp a gain of 44 bhp over standard, modifications included a decat, ecu remap, cam work, throttle bodies and a new induction system"

I know this is a different car but that is some serious
