Roof rack problems

Featured Replies

I can find one or two old threads on the subject but no definitive answers - perhap there isn't one but...

2003 Octavia Ambiente Estate no roof rails. The Thule roof rack is the 4305 c-mes as a complete kit with rails, feet and an usual clamp system that uses a second bar under the main bar. It does not look like a very serious piece of kit to me. Thule have a new system using the separate bars etc. but the car has to have locating points and mine doesn't.

Skoda say roof rails cost

  • 9 months later...

i am in the same boat mate.thule states skoda octavia estate 98 on with fixing points but i cant see any fixing points anywhere.ah well, should have checked before i bought it.unless any one knows who has got some oe rails for a good price.

I thought there were subtle markers in the top of the door area under the roof, much like little arrows where the clamp points are.

Try and give Thule UK customer services a shout - I think they are based in Cleveden near Bristol - hopefully there will be some contact details on their web-site.

I got an Alfa 156 SportWagon not long after they were released, and the guys there were very helpful in recommending the right roof bar model and fixing kit, even though it didn't show on the official lists etc.

I was a keen canoeist for many years, and I (along with most of the others I paddled with) would totally recommend Thule - I had every confidence in them, and their equipment never let me down.

Its good stuff IMHO.
