New Elegance is 850 miles old now and I have started to spend more time in stop start traffic.

I've noticed that the 2nd gear (manual box) whines quite a bit when engine braking or lifting off accelerator instead of changing up.

Is this normal, or could it be a potential problem? Its also a bit notchy when changing up from 1st.

Are you sure it's not a turbo charger?

Dealer trip, sounds like second gear cogs, could also possibly be gear linkage adjustment. Anyway get it in at least you have warranty you could also log it with Skoda.uk for furure reference.

If it's any help, mine isn't whiny or notchy when changing up from 1st (thank goodness). Get the dealer to look at it, no problem I would have thought as it's under warranty.
