Interior LED sets

Featured Replies

I've been considering the full set of LED's from Super Skoda (http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-II/Octavia-II-04-12-FULL-frontrear-led-dome-light-kit-KI-R) as they will all be colour matched and brighter than standard.

I can't stand the 'yellow' normal bulbs and have discovered Philips BlueVision 5W5's which I like, but aren't quite bright enough and I can find festoons to match (LED's or otherwise).

Has anyone got the Super Skoda set or a matched set of bulbs from elsewhere?

Don't want any issues with CAN errors (not that I'd expect any on interior bulbs).

So, make some suggestions please.

Thanks.

  • One tip, run the heated mirrors for 10 minutes first to soften the plastic clips so the mirror glass pops off without too much force

  • Just completed this job, all LED's used were 6000K white purchased from Fizzmo on ebay (who provided an excellent service). These are the LED types required for an Octavia Elegance estate: Map light

I got em off ebay. The festoons were bout a pound each n have six smds on em as do number plate festoons. The roumd bulbs I replaced with smds from china. I got 10 for 3.80 delivered and each have four smds on them

I been wanting to change mine too anybody know what the bulb size is in the octavia 2007?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm happy to look at LED's other than Super Skoda ones, but can anyone point out ones that are colour matched?

I've tried a few, and can't seem to get the same colour between the 5W5 & festoons without dropping to very blue colours... Which I don't want.

Anyone provide links to colour matched festoons & 5W5 LED's that are brighter than standard bulbs?

Yeah iv had that prob too, happy enough with tge w5w. But the festoon is a little blue

Thanks. I had some that were supposed to be 'white' but were very obviously 'blue' tinted.

Not what I was after and something I want to avoid.

I have seen these from Phillips and been tempted - Festoons (6000k) or these festoons (4000k) and 5W5's (4000k).

Does anyone have any experience with these? Although they are almost as expensive as the Super Skoda ones...

On peoples reccomendation, I've just bought a complete interior set plus number plate lights from Fizzmo. Not actually fitted them yet - will do tomorrow and report back if you want.

Please do, I've been looking at Fizzmo lights too recently.

Has anyone installed these and got the dreaded error codes? if so, in what car?

Also, what exactly is needed for a 'full kit' - how many of each bulb/code, etc.?

Cheers

Danny

I'll let you know later Danny when I fit them (assuming the info I found on here is correct with regard to the sizes etc!).

Cool, thanks.

Did a bit of searching and hope I've got the list right so far;

2 x Boot lights (501 w5w side wedge)

2 x Map reading lights (501 w5w)

2 x Interior lights

2 x Courtesy door lights (38mm c5w)

2 x Puddle lights (501 w5w side wedge)

1 x Glove box

Can anyone confirm that I've got the right buld codes/sizes? What are the bulbs I need to complete the list?

Cheers in advance

Danny

God I hate this site....it keeps making me think I need to change things that I hadn't even noticed before!

Can someone give me a link on fizzmo to the 501 w5w side wedge and 501 w5w bulbs?

Thanks

I think...

Two of these (one front & one rear) festoon 12 smd led xenon white 38/39mm: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=290637098720

And

Two of these (i.e. one pack) W5W 5 smd xenon white led: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=300626515152

That's the interior covered, but are they the same colour? I notice that some are advertised as 6000k and some aren't...

So that's for courtesy and map reading lights ?

Yes. Probably.

Front interior light has two 'map' lights which are 5W5 and one festoon.

The rear interior light just has one festoon.

As far as I know these are not CANBUS controlled so do not need 'special' LED bulbs.

Interior total from Fizzmo: £10.50

Super Skoda: £36 (ish)

I suspect the SS set will probably be brighter and white (can anyone confirm?) but will certainly be coloured the same.

But that's quite a bit of difference in price...

Can anyone confirm that the SS set is worth it? They look a little iffy to fit the actual LED plates (not the contact parts).

How do you change the boot bulbs in an estate? Got the lens off but couldn't see how to get the bulb in/out without pliers that would smash the bulb?

Sorry.

You have these in you octy? It's not much money but would hate to get them and then find I get error signals.

Do you know which festoon I should order from DX?

Would this fit

Don't forget glove box and boot lights.

Started to fit mine tonight but blew a fuse when I semi broke the switch on the front light. Fixed it but by then it was far too dark to sort the fuse out. Got the glove box one done before I blew the fuse though and it looks awesome vs the old ones! Will get them finished with pics tomorrow.

Mine from Fizzmo came to £18 for:

map lights x 2

front light

rear light

boot lights x 2

glove box light

rear number plate lights

No error codes?

If you can post links to the exact ones you bought when you put the pics up that would be great.

Thanks for the links. Which light does each of those links relate to? Cheers

If you mean the interior ones, a pair of snipe nose pliers get them out the holder. They're pretty robust cos I bought some LED lights for the puddle lights (where they stayed) but tried them in the boot to see if it made much difference or if I was bothered enough to change it. I wasn't :giggle: It's only a little resistance that holds them in, nothing more.

Also, does anyone know if you can get a clear replacement lens for the door lights?
