Can existing park assist cars be upgraded to new spec Park assist?

Featured Replies

The new facelift 2013 superb has an upgraded park assist to include rear park assist and get out of a car parking bay assist as does the new octavia as seen in the video guide below.

Does this mean if you already have park assist that you will be able to get it upgraded if it is only a software upgrade assuming it using all the existing sensors?

Would this be a dealer upgrade, oem specialist or vcd coding additions? Like you can now close the electric boot with vcds activation, is there already coding for this to do rear park but not activated as standard from the factory???

Think the new rear park assist would be more useful when car is fully loaded or steamed up when raining.

I'm sorry, "get out of a car parking bay assist"? I've got a 2009 Elegance spec so I may be a bit behind the curve but I'm sure that if you need assistance to get out of a parking bay you should really get out and walk!!

(No offense to the OP, I've had a few beers and it took me 45 mins to write this on my iPad...)

I think it'd be more than software. The Tiguan loan car that I had with the perpendicular park assist (known as park assist V2) had more sensors 6 on the back and 6 on the front.
