Which PVR/Freeview combo?

Featured Replies

I've been looking at these for a couple of days and it seems the best functionality comes from a twin tuner setup. However these seem pretty thin on the ground and the one that I'm currently considering is the the Thomson DHD4000 as it has received good reviews since it's recent software upgrade. Any comments on this unit or alternatives to consider?

I read a review on these last week in one of the dailys. Let me see if I can find it.

I built my own, based on XP Mediacenter 2005, chucked in a couple of freeview pci cards and away I went. Best bit is I can play PC games on my 42" plasma TV.

Sorry Eddy. I'm pretty sure it was in The Guardian G2 Consumer bit last Thursday but a search on their site doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere.

Rich - Thanks for trying.

Mannyo - It's for the mum in-law so needs to be simple.

I built mine too, but I use Showshifter rather than windows media. Don't have a plasma screen yet tho. Mind you, the tv I have isn't too bad as I'm currently viewing Briskoda on it! :D

Go for the Sagem unit from Argos @
