k04 turbo conversion mk1 octavia vrs?

Featured Replies

Hi ive been looking into converting my mk1 octavia vrs from k03s to k04 turbo i know a few people must of done this on here and im fairly new to this forum just wandering what parts i would need and pipes too to make a proper job of it or would it be easier to get the same power gains off a hybrid? the car is currently standard with a stage 1 map but is going in for full exhaust and air filter soon.

any help will be great as ive heard different things off differnt people

Thanks

Rich

Its only minimal gains with a K04 on the 1.8T though isnt it? Would it not be better going the next step iup again?

Maybe the Loba LO300 or LO320 Hybrid setups. Still 100% bolt on mods, but with a better £/bhp gain.

Hi mate

When I searched on here before for the same conversion it's easier to just hybrid the k03s at least it's straight bolt on where the k04 you need different oil lines, manifold, injectors, custom downpipe as well as bigger tip and maf and there's bound to be somat I've forgot !!!

If its more power your after why not stage 2 it first and play around with suspension mods ?

Yeah I have found a hybrid with k04 internals but could I fit that with injectors not really wanting a front mount just yet too much hastle to fit

What about a upgraded side mount instead ?

You can bolt on the turbo and injectors but without supporting mods it'll run bad and you won't see any real benefits ....

Are you doin the downpipe as well or just cat back ?

Plus it's gonna need mapping again when it's fitted .

Lots to do really

You will need a fmic to flow enough to warrant a the hybrid

If your not doing the basics first you might aswell not bother IMO and save your money

Can u hybrid a ko3? Or even buy a new ko3s hybrid with out exchanging your old turbo? My bro's mk4 golf agu has the ko3 and its the only thing holding it back.

Apart from potential wheel spinning away the extra torque?

?? What do you mean by this? Car has front mount, bigger downpipe/d-cat, full system, induction kit and wos mapped at 184bhp but wos told the ko3 turbo wos as far as it could go. So looking an upgrade

I know someone with a AGU engined A3 with a k03s on plus all the other supporting mods mentioned on the golf, thats 215bhp

Sent from my iPhone 4s

My VRS with generic stage one shark map, flter, 2.5in turbo back exhaust and universal FMIC made a modified MK5 astra VXR look abit stupid at weekend when he couldnt get past me at mallory even down long back straight

Really dont see point of going any further as i had real traction issues as it is, would rather spend money on supporting mods to help get power down to tarmac as i wouldnt say there the best handling cars in standard trim
