New Fabia Vrs owner needs help

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone, just got my new Fabia Vrs from the garage, just love it. But i Have a quick query for anybody on the forum who might be able to help. Got the standard Michelin Pilot Premacy tyres on it. Can anyone tell me what's the best tyre pressure for everyday use? (in both pounds and bar please)

I've checked the inside of the fuel filler cap for the measurements and it appears mine have been massively over-inflated to such a degree that i am worried about doing damage!

Just wondered what pressure everybody else's tyres are? Thanks in advance.

erm use whats in the ful filler cap 2.2 and 2.1 iirc

IIRC the vRS tyre pressures are slightly different to the regular Fabia pressures of 2.2/2.1 bar.

It works out at 33psi front 31 psi rear iirc, or near as damn it.

Poss thread hijack ....

Do they just use whats lying around in the tyre stock, as my new furby has Conti's on, they seem to be ok of course but just wondering what others have as standard?

Basically they use what they have. I've seen Michelin's, Conti's and now Bridgestone tyres on brand new ones.

I was expecting Conti's on my May '05 vRS but got Bridgestones. Bridgestones to seem a bit noisy IMO as I had Conti's on my last car

2.4 Bar = 34.8 psi

2.3 Bar = 33.4 psi

2.2 Bar = 31.9 psi

2.1 Bar = 30.5 psi

2.0 Bar = 29.0 psi

I've got Bridgestone Turanza's on my 2 week old car. They're noisy on poor surfaces compared to the Pilot Primacy's on the Demo car I tried.

I was told that the tyres are over-inflated for transit on a transporter. The dealer should have checked the pressures before you took delivery. I put 34 psi in the front and 32 in the back.

2.4 Bar = 34.8 psi

2.3 Bar = 33.4 psi

2.2 Bar = 31.9 psi

2.1 Bar = 30.5 psi

2.0 Bar = 29.0 psi

Excellent.Never understood the filler cap

I was told 32,32 by my service dept.

So, there seems to a be some discrepancies! What about anybody else? What are your tyre pressures?

I think Lummox may know :D

I've got MATADOR tyres. Have you ever heard of it?

Way hey, a beliver..lol

Way hey, a beliver..lol

It would be mildly dis-concerting if you didn't :P

I put 33 in all round - only because I can't be bothered to change the number on the digital thing at Tescos though!

And my Fabia has Bridgestones too. Very noisy, but nice and grippy. When they wear out I'll be putting on 17's with better tyres...

Thanks everyone, bit easier to understand than the label on the filler cap!

The correct pressures depend on the load of the car. When fully loaded the pressure should be higher. That's why the cap shows a few pressures. It's actually pretty clear when you know which engine you have and if you see the front & back of the car aligned with the relevant pressure.

I have 32 in the fronts and 31 in the backs, extra pressure in the front to support the weight of the engine.
