Known problem: Climate only blowing hot air

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I have a known problem, in which the climate control only blows out hot air and you will need to restart the car to fix the problem. Of course i searched the forum and know what the problem is:

Copy/paste from other threads with the same problem.

"finally got problem sorted, positioning motor fan temp flap was faulty, £10 to £16 plus vat, thanks for all the non replies"

"Faulty temp flap motor, better off in the right section but its a common issue."

Does anyone know what the part number of this, which i assume is a sensor, is?

I hope someone can help out.

Thanks in advance!

same problem for me.

i turn mine by hand in spring /autumn

so i have no heat in summer and kebab burner

in winter :whew:

intrested in replies.

It's a little motor and I don't know where it sits on the Superb, but on the Octy it was behind the glove box somewhere and cost £375 to fix because they had to remove the whole dash - luckily under warranty. The part was £50 or something.

Sorry, that doesn't answer the question though :(

Hmm i think it was rotodiesel who once posted some information about being able to change the motor through the pollen filter housing, am i wrong?

Where is roto when you need him!? :-)

Bump in hopes that someone out there can help out.. Anyways i found out it's possible to change it just by removing the glovebox. I just don't know how to find the part. Maybe i'm looking wrong and should try Audi A4 or Passat?

Funny how things can turn out. Apparently i've replied to a topic like this in 2010:

Part number, after a complex google search should be: 1J2907511A

If anyone can confirm, please do. :-)

EDIT: Changed to part number to the correct one.

Have a look in the UK Passat forum, someone in there managed to replace the temperature flap motor, so, I grabbed my new one from the boot where it had lived for a couple of years - and replaced mine! If it is the same as the Passat B5, and it should be, it lives under the centre of the console/dash area.
