VRS vs Standard springs. What's the difference?

Featured Replies

Hey all

Is there a difference between the springs on a VRS compared to standard models?

Danny

I would assume the vrs springs are slightly shorter and stiffer than standard springs.

+1 should be slightly stiffer and probably around 15-20mm lower. Someone may come along with exact specs.

The springs on the vRS are 1.2 cm. shorter.I would imagine that there're stiffer also.

Dont know for certain but the vRS certainly has a bespoke suspension and braking setup over the normal variants, even those with sports suspension; pre FL is basically a stretched MK5 Golf GTi; the FL a MK6.

I believe the sports suspension on the standard car drops it by about 15mm and the vRS as far as I can tell has got to be at least 20/25mm lower than standard

I'm rehashing this as I've acquired a set of vRS springs. Will these fit to my suspension as it is, or will I need to change other items to?

Don't see why they won't just go straight in!

I have some VWR Mk5 springs on mine - they went straight on. :) (With some elbow grease, hours and colourful language)
