Fitting extras

Featured Replies

Hi all,

On 19th April I will trade in my dark blue '08' Fabia 3 1.4TDI / 80bhp in favour of a silver '61' Octavia SE 1.6TDI / 105bhp Hatchback. Dealer allowed me £5000 for the Fabia and that, combined with £5800 in savings and a loan for the remainder allowed me to get the Octy.

Although I will enjoy the Octy I will miss having the Fabia but I won't forget that my Gran gave me £250 towards it, something I will always be grateful for. IN addition, when I got the Fabia, the plan was that I would run it for a couple of years or so (in fact I have had it since July 2010) and then change it for something bigger.

One thing though is that the SE I am getting won't have cruise control or RPS and I may think about getting these fitted at a later date. Any ideas what the cost might be if I were to do so?

Cheers,

Dave

Cruise should be fairly easy to do, a dealer or VAG specialist should be able to sort this; on any Octavia think its just a stalk change and re-code.

Rear parking sensors.....it is technically possible to get the OEM system retrofitted as so to gain the optical parking system (visual display on car audio system) but it would be very expensive and finding someone to do it might be a challenge. I'd probably just recommend getting your local Skoda dealer to fit the genuine accessory kit; will look OEM more or less and do everything the factory system does bar show the visual display.

Pretty sure that Cruise is a dealer fit accesory, my local dealer is always putting it on special around £150 fitted. Maybe try and get that included in the deal or something?

Particularly like the way you've publicly recognised your Grant's assistance. Mine was a gem too, and I probably didn't say "thank you" nearly enough.
