Removing the smell of leather

Featured Replies

I don't much like the smell of new leather, and even though my car is three years old, I still find the cabin a bit overpowering sometimes. Is there anything I can treat the (ivory) upholstery with to tone it down without doing any damage?

Thanks, they look good, though I was hoping to have no smell at all, as opposed to masking one with another.

The best ideas I can come up with are Fabreze (usual caveats about testing on a small, concealed area apply), and drive with windows and/or sunroof at least cracked open whenever possible.

Yes, though you have to be careful with Febreze on leather, I think. Open windows are fine unless you want the AC, of course. A suggestion I found was a 1:2 mix of white vinegar and linseed oil. Might try that.
