Can anyone help please,dash display is showing message Check Deadlock, can't find anything in Handbook to explain.

it's a standard safety warning so you don't lock anyone inside as they cant get out once you have locked the door from the outside.

My previous car had deadlocks but you had to push the remote button twice quickly to activate them

Yes, they activate on the first press of the lock button.

Press once to lock with deadlocks. Press again within a couple of seconds to remove deadlocks.
