LCR fuel pump and Injectors?

Featured Replies

probably another silly question from me!

what sort of difference would i expect to get with the LCR pump and injectors on my octavia vrs just running stage 1 going stage 2 shark map?

thinking of getting them as i have had a few running problems changed the fuel filter which got rid of the problems but it has now very very slightly come back, getting right on my nerves and proving a little difficult to diagnose! but if they give a good/ish gain by having them anyway i may as well get some :)

or actually what about just upgrading the fuel pump to a walbro 255 GSS340? as they are not too much money and have some good reviews :)

Walbro pumps are quite noisey compared to oem pumps. I think if you change injectors you would have to have the MAF scaling changed in the map as it wont fuel right. Shark will be able to map to suit. Would stick with LCR pump if your going to change

I had walbro and it`s OK if you don`t mind right hand bends fuel starvation  , seriously it not good because it has only one inlet and stock has 3. Walbro can`t suck properly fuel from swirl pot in which the level of fuel is always higher that in the tank.

Stock pump has O ring at the bottom which seals swirl pot from main fuel inlet.

Only good way and safe way is a combination: Cupra R/Audi S3 injectors 386cc@3bar + 3 bar fpr + cupra r fuel pump.

from reading around the GSS340 was the one that sat perfect in the housing and did not have any problems with fuel starvation hmmmm.

The LCR injectors and pump won't give you any gains on there own.

And generally for stage 2 they are not needed either, I only fitted them as I couldn't get to the bottom of a fueling issue, hence I fitted an LCR fuel pump, and when that didn't cure the problem I fitted LCR injectors.

True as I have one fitted. They sit lower down that the generic Walbro's and you can keep std housing. I have run on near empty and no fuel issues.

They are noisy though although I have silenced mine somewhat by putting some foam padding over it and under the seat. Not too bad at all now.

I have a Shark Map stage 2 and was also thinking of messing with LCR Injectors , 4bar FPR, 3" MAF and larger TIP. Although not sure Shark custom map for this as Cossie1 mentions . Normally they just receive your map file tweak it and send it back. Not sure that is enough to get best potential from changing mentioned parts.

hmm the fact that as you say dont have problems with starvation is good but the noisy bit is turning me off :( hmmm lcr one maybe then, we will see :)

I also didn`t have problems with fuel starvation if I drove normally or lets say quarter mile type driving.

The problem was only when I turn in right hand curve almost side ways, drifting into corners, tires screaming like hell and so on.

I see you have a Peloquin diff, what are your thought son those buddy,

Expensive little thing but worth every penny, little to none torque steering, transforms the car how it goes trough the bends and most importantly there`s no more slipping of the inner wheel in corners.

We can map for OE injectors remotely but aftermarket ones we'd need the car usually, unless it's one we've approved in a conversion.

Good to know , cheers.

Can you advise or PM price for a custom map, guess as I have a Shark map that is worthless if you are custom mapping??

cheers

If a customer has a Shark map then the price of the custom map is discounted, it is taken into account that you are a returning customer.
