I remember I was driving back from Liverpool around midnight and the ECU told me it had 0 miles left. I panicked as I had no cash and couldn`t find a fuel station, but the car actually got me home 20 miles later.... It even got me to a fuel pump the next day for a re-fill! Does anyone know what the actual reserve is on the VRS??

Regularly do 30 miles on 0 without running out, but some are different.

Swmbo's yaris does around 45 twice now she has confirmed it by running out at 46, hence why both cars now carry a fuel can lol

She also had a hire car while hers was in for repair, Renault clio and she found out that she had just about 10 miles from the light coming on, not good when her work was 12 miles from the nearest petrol station lol

Manual says:

Fuel tank capacity/of which spare = 55/7 litres

I can manage 50 miles after the range drops to 0. Although I pushed it a little too far the other day and the engine started spluttering 1/2 mile before I hit the forecourt! Brown pants moment!

I'm a weirdo and I like to get the tank as empty as I can before brimming it as much as I can! Probably something to do with how much I hate going to petrol stations and waiting for retards to do their weekly food shop while dumping their car next to a pump. Petrol stations generally drive me insane. I sound old. Brrr.

You can do about 50 miles... but not recomended. The fuel pump is located in the tank, cooling itself with the fuel inside...

I always wondered if when the petrol light comes on and you have say 30 miles.. is there any more after the 0miles.

I've pushed 30 and bottled but I do keep a jerry can brimmed in the boot so no stress ??

After 5 miles of driving on zero miles left the car took 52,3 litres so would estimate about 1/2 gall left which would last about 20 to 30 miles in my car
