Got my R888's put back on after having T1R's on over the winter months.

Was not impressed at all with the T1R's but I guess it was my fault to expect these to be good in bad weather.

Will get some proper winter tyres next time - may sell on my T1R's , thought they were good on my Mini !!

T1R's are horrendous in the wet. I had about 5 sets on my previous car just because they were cheap. In the dry though however they are ok.

I should imagine R888s would be good for going sideways in the wet too?

True - not good with standing water but no less grip than the T1R's on a wet road to be honest, and unbelievable in the dry

Exactly why I just got uniroyal rainsport 2s, don't see the point in r888s or t1rs when its raining 364 days of the year!
