Does anyone know when the new RS Octavia is coming out and whether it is going to be petrol or diesel bhp?

Nope.

Plenty of guesses and some people saying "definately the end of this year" but no official news.

Best guess on the engines will be a choice of 200bhp petrol and 168bhp diesel.

I rang the Skoda customer services help line and they told me that the new RS will be out December 2005 but they didn't say what engines would be available.

I heard from a reliable source today that the new RS will be unveiled at the frankfurt Motor Show and will be on sale from then in left had drive only until late december when the first right hand drive option will be available.

Skoda says end of the year.... but will not tell any specs yet, even though they know!!

Diesel Car magazine say it will be out in November this year and be a 170bhp diesel, car is listed as a "Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0 TDI 170"

My dealer said petrol & diesel versions will come out. Wasnt sure when, that kinda thing.

17" wheels standard, but all UK destined demonstrator models will be coming with 18" wheels.

It is under embargo until the Frankfurt show. UK dealers should get demos in late December. Both diesel (160) and FSiT (197) versions are rumoured. It will look quite different from the Sport.

There might be a UK launch event between Sept and Dec, if so you'll be the first to hear.
